“We want a mechanism that does not allow dust to escape inside the clean room” KMβ

We want a mechanism that does not allow dust to escape inside the clean room.

The manufacturer, M Corporation, that carries out pharmaceuticals research and development, requested, “In order to prevent mixing of foreign matter (contamination), we want to remove as far as possible all mechanisms that allow dust to escape from a centrifuge installed inside a clean room for use in research.”

In response, we proposed and supplied a low, direct connection-type KM β with the electric motor transmission method placed directly beneath the main shaft instead of the usual V belt transmission method.

As a result, since there was no V belt driving the machine, no dust appeared due to slipping, so the work area was kept clean enabling the risk of contamination to be reduced.

In addition, due to the unique design with the electric motor placed directly below the main shaft, the overhead of belt adjustment, and the problem of belt breakage through long-term usage, if unlikely, can be avoided, leading also to a reduction in maintenance costs.

Furthermore, there is no need to install the electric motor unit on the side of the centrifuge, so even in a limited area, the installation area can be kept to a compact size.

Key Point – Reduced contamination risk

Since there is no V belt for driving the device, dust no longer appears due to slippage, and so the work area can be kept clean.
In addition, the overhead of belt adjustment, and the problem of belt breakage through long-term usage, if unlikely, can be avoided.

Key Point – Machine installation in a compact space

Due to the unique design with the electric motor placed directly below the main shaft, there is no need to install the electric motor unit on the side of the centrifuge.
So even in a limited area, the installation area can be kept to a compact size.

Aside from the top-discharge KM β, the bottom-discharge DMN β is also an example that employs a low, direct connection to the electric motor.
Of the same bottom-discharge type, but with an upper direct connection to the electric motor is the Mark III β, but the DMN β has a casing open and close mechanism, so checking basket cleaning is easier, and we therefore recommend this one in the case of handling numerous product items.
